This is a spicture of a silent auction basket from our 2007 fund raiser tea party. I saved 4 pictures in a set on my flickr account but i'm not sure how to add them all to my blog as a set - or do i have to upload them one at a time. I can see how this might be a usefule tool for this year's silent auction for publicizing our auction and letting people see what they bid on. We aren't set up for online bidding but it would be helpful if people could check a site for photos and updated bidding info before contacting us to place a bid.

ok, i've linked to some sites and blogs. i stay away from the computer as much as possible except when there ios something specific i am looking for at the moment. I guess that is why I am not really enjoying this challenge. I would prefer to talk to people in person. I prefer to be on the computer as little as possible. So I guess in a way Rss could be a time saver but when I don't really spend time on the computer except to complete this progect I'm not sure how much time it would save. it actually seems to be taking longer to find my blog , etc. than it would take me to just search the web. i hope the next things will have more appeal to me. Oh, by the way, one of my co-workers said my blog entries are underlined because for some reason it thinks the whole thing is a link. However we don't know how to fix the problem.

the other thing is that the only way i know to find my RSS account is to click on the link under #4 Keeping up! and then signing in. that doesn't seem like much of a time saver.

I just came from the chiropractor because I have a facial tick by my eye and my carpal tunnel is acting up terribly. The dr. said "if I didn't know better I'd say you are spending too much time in front of the computer". He said the tick was caused by eye stress from trying to read the computer screen - probably under flouresent lights (yes, he's right) - and the wrist and hand pain and numbness is from playing with the mouse and typing. So now I'm on new meds to try to get rid of the symptoms until I can be free of the cause (when I have finished the 23 things!). I'm sorry, but this has not been a positive experience for me at all.

Why is it underlining and how do I make it stop?

Can anyone tell me how to make it stop underlining everything in my blog. I don't want it to underline anything at all but can't figure out how to stop it.

The most important or helpful part of this thing was the reference to Webopedia for an explanation of web terms and acronyms. From reading all the blogs and comments I guess I would have to classify myself as a feet-dragger. I am a former educator and have seen curriculum come and go as the publishers try to create a need for their product and therefore prompt sales. I wonder if the techno industry is doing the same thing by trying to convince the libraries, schools and consumers that they have a need that can only be filled through their particular product and therefore generate continued sales of their products and services. What I see happening in our small community public library is people coming in to an inviting space to take advantage of free materials and services, to meet people and visit with family, friends, neighbors, to take a break from an otherwise hectic life. They are socializing. I fear that stressing all this technology will cause us to loose this vital part of our community. Yes, I know that you can e-mail around the world and instant message, etc. but where is the direct contact with a living, breathing human being who makes eye contact and has facial exressions and body language? I dread the day computers replace people in our lives because then we are no better than robots.

removing a picture

I am trying this to see if it effectively removed my avatar from my postings but left it on the blog. when i was trying to import my avatar I clicked on add a picture in addition to the one I was supposed to click.

Ok, it took a while but i finally figured out how to export the avatar into my blog. I guess if I had read all the directions first it might have gone faster. This is all so unfamiliar to me that I feel lost. I can see where younger people might enjoy this and therefore it is something I should know how to do. It won't let me un-underline the text and that is frustrating!

this seems like a total waste of my time. why would i want to spend time creating a little "doll" for my blog page? when i could be sewing or reading or out for a walk in real life. sorry. still don't see the point of this. you haven't sold me on it yet.

setting up a blog #1

setting up the blog was pretty easy. i'm still not sure what a blog is exactly or why anyone would want to spend time reading and posting to a blog when you can call, text or e-mail the info you want to go to specific people. i guess i don't think i want to contact the world at large yet.
